MAUREEN O’HANLON Managing Partner
Maureen O’Hanlon is a 25-year veteran of the travel and hospitality. She is a Founding Partner of the Prism Advisory Group. She joined the Prism Partnership as a Partner in 2004 and lead the firm’s marketing and sales practice. Prior to joining the Prism Partnership, O’Hanlon served with Prime Hospitality as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing overseeing all marketing, advertising and communications efforts in addition to the National Sales effort, the company’s loyalty program, e-commerce efforts, public relations as well as the company’s reservation system.
She also served for 16 years at Carlson Companies, opening the New York office and ultimately serving at the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Radisson Hotels. During her time at Carlson, Radisson Hotels grew from 29 regional US hotels to over 450 properties in 50 different countries.
In her tenure at Carlson, the constant theme of Maureen’s contribution revolved around utilizing technology to benefit the customer experience. This theme is visible in her contributions to establish the Worldwide Hospitality Program, the Radisson Internet presence and the Look to Book initiative, a patented groundbreaking loyalty program for travel agents. She also worked for two years at Carlson Marketing Group, the loyalty division of the company.
Maureen’s accomplishments have been recognized many times in the industry. These honors include four consecutive years named as one of the most powerful women in in America’s travel industry by Travel Agent magazine; recognized as one of the 25 most influential industry executives by Tour & Travel News; recipient of the ATLAS Award for Marketing bestowed by the Association of Travel Marketing Executives; and numerous other citations, awards and accolades.
Her clients include Best Western Hotels, Morgans Hotel Group, JD Power & Co, Carlson Companies, PCMA and Kalibri Labs among others.
Her leadership in the industry and community matches her leadership as an executive. She has taken leadership roles in numerous educational and industry activities, including Meeting Planners International, the Society of Incentive Travel Executives and the National Business Travel Association. Maureen is a past president of the New York Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International as well as serving on the International Board of the Association for 10 years, ultimately serving as the Chair of the 7000 + member organization (with members in 35 countries) for a two-year term and is still involved as a past chair. She has been a guest lecturer at NY University and Boston University.
O’Hanlon also serves on the Board of Synnikan, a Minneapolis-based organization that promotes mentoring and the advancement of women in the workplace. She currently is on the board of Berkshire Lyric, a Berkshire-based choral group that has performed the last few years at Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood. She had served on the Board of Advisors for ISM, a Boston-based marketing services firm. She served on the board of directors for the Berkshire Visitors Bureau before it merged into the 1Berkshire organization. She is a past Lead of the Exhibit Docents at Tanglewood and still volunteers there.
Maureen has been a volunteer at Shakespeare & Co for 14 years and is currently co-President of Shakespeare & Volunteer Company and serves on the Board of Trustees at Shakespeare & Co.
